Uptown Farmer’s Market

I was commissioned by the Minneapolis Uptown Farmer’s Market marketing group to design and illustrate a poster to highlight and promote the summertime market.

I drew inspiration from old monster invasion movies, which tied in well with the focal architecture of the Uptown movie theater marquee. It was a fun and playful concept that resonated well with kids and adults alike.

After I designed the poster, we had the opportunity to put up a mural over an inactive storefront on a prominent block in the Uptown neighborhood. This created a unique and engaging visual anchor in the area, and we adapted the original poster to offer a fun photo opportunity to pretend to be grabbed by the giant Yeti.

The mural was well received, helped build awareness for the farmer’s market, and even got local media attention and recognition.
