Getting a meaningful gift for someone is a very personal gesture, and one that often has many people scratching their heads on where to start.

We set out to make the gift giving process easy and enjoyable for our guests. We started by thinking about key priorities and factors that gift givers run into when trying to find that perfect gift for someone special.

We recognized that every gift giver is different, and so are the people receiving those gifts. Our focus was on how to empower the givers with the tools they need to make the process work for them, while being able to match up their recipients personality with the right products, lifestyles and interests.

The audience

Our guests are often looking for great ideas to get for their friends and loved ones. Not just for birthdays and special occasions, but even just to let you know that you’re thinking of them, especially during times like now where connecting and celebrating is more challenging.

The challenge

Finding the right gift for the right person is often a difficult feat, especially in a sea of products, and without the right guidance or tools to sift through it all. We aimed to get our guests to right products quicker and easier, while also letting them do so with their top priorities in mind, such as budget and occasion.

The solution

We started with research and interviews, asking our guests who are shopping for gifts what were their top needs and signals, as well as how their brain naturally thinks about shopping for a gift. We used these inputs to structure an intuitive and approachable experience for gift givers, focusing on things like occasion type, personality type, interests and of course, budget and value. We also gave the overall brand of the experience some strong visual presence to make it fun and exciting to find just the right gifts.
